Hyderabad: The Railway Police on Saturday arrested a hotel worker on charges of stealing bags from passengers travelling in trains.
As many as 120 grams of gold ornaments, Rs 1 lakh in cash and three mobile phones were seized from the possession of the arrested person Srinivas Dasharath Sripathi (33) of Sholapur Town in Maharashtra, said Government Railway Police (Secunderabad), Superintendent of Police, B Anuradha here.
Sripathi, who was involved in three such cases, had stolen the hand bags in Machilipatnam and Gudur-Secunderabad Express Trains at the outer signal of Secunderabad Railway Station along with Yeshwanthpur-Secunderabad Express at Lingampally railway station.
The receiver of the stolen gold ornaments Ramesh Eknath Shinde (44) of Sangli district in Maharashtra has also been identified, sadi the police.
