Man held for using fake number plate
Chaderghat police arrested a man for using a tampered number plate on his two-wheeler, after a complaint from a vehicle owner who received wrongful traffic challans linked to the fake registration number
Hyderabad: The Chaderghat Police arrested Mohd Rafiuddin of Kurmaguda in Madannapet for allegedly using a tampered number plate on his two-wheeler on Friday.
He allegedly altered the registration number from TG11A1698 to TG11A1898 to evade enforcement authorities.
The fraud came to light after a complaint by Shaheen Begum of Old Malakpet, the genuine owner of the number, who reported receiving traffic challans for violations she did not commit.
Subsequently, it was found that the suspect used the fake plate to carry out multiple traffic offences, wrongly implicating the complainant. He was arrested and further investigation is on.
