Hyderabad: The Mailardevpally police caught a man on charges of stealing gold ornaments from his employer’s house in Shastripuram here on Saturday. Police recovered gold worth Rs 2.3 lakh from him.

The arrested person was Mohd Omer (24), a driver from Jahanuma in Falaknuma. Police said Omer, who worked at Wasim Begum’s house stole the ornaments and cash in her absence on Wednesday. A case was booked and over suspicion, Omer was detained and he confessed to the offence.

He was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
