Hyderabad: The KPHB police solved the 10-day-old murder case of Sravanthi (30) and arrested her husband here on Tuesday.
The suspect K Venkatanarayana (30), who runs a herbal medical store, and Sravanthi lived in a rented house in SS Colony in Hydernagar. According to the police, Venkatanarayana was addicted to alcohol and the two had frequent fights over it for the last one year. On the night of January 3, they argued again, after which he hit Sravanthi on the head multiple times with a stick.
“She died on the spot. He wrapped her body in a bedsheet and dumped it in the parking area near the house and fled,” police said, adding suspicious neighbours alerted the police. Venkatanarayana was taken into custody and he confessed to the murder, police said.
He was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
