Man jailed for three years in POCSO case
A POCSO court in Rajendranagar convicted a 56-year-old bangle shop owner for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy in 2022 and sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine and awarded compensation to the victim.

Hyderabad: A POCSO court at Rajendranagar on Wednesday convicted a man for sexually assaulting a minor boy and sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment.
According to the police, Pallati Venugopal (56), who runs a bangle shop at Bandlaguda, Rajendranagar, sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy on March 1, 2022, when the child had come to the shop to buy some items.
The boy later informed his parents about the incident, following which they approached the police and lodged a complaint. The police registered a case and filed a chargesheet before the court.
After the completion of the trial, the court found Venugopal guilty and sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the convict and awarded Rs 50,000 as compensation to the victim.
