Man killed by friend over money matter in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man was killed allegedly by his friend after an argument over a financial matter at Budvel in Rajendranagar on Thursday night.
The victim, Sai Karthik (35), a private employee from Warangal who was staying in a rented house in Budvel and the suspect, Siddharth Reddy from Pulivendula in Andhra Pradesh, were good friends.
According to the police, Sai Karthik had earlier borrowed about Rs 8 lakh as hand loan from Siddharth Reddy on a promise of returning it at the earliest. However, he failed to repay it on time.
Whenever Siddharth Reddy asked about the money, Sai Karthik allegedly gave irrelevant replies and kept dogging the matter. At one point, he also allegedly threatened Siddharth.
On Thursday night, the duo along with other friends were having a liquor party at Sai Karthik’s room. During which, they are suspected to have had an argument over the same. Following which, Siddharth attacked Sai Karthik, resulting in grievous injuries and killing him on the spot. It is suspected that they got drunk and ended up arguing over the matter.
The Rajendranagar police have booked a case and are investigating. The suspect has surrendered before the police, who are yet to announce arrest.
