Hyderabad: A woman was murdered, allegedly by her husband, at Tappachabutra in the early hours of Wednesday.
The victim Mangalamma (40) and her husband Srinivas (45), a daily wager lived with their children at Markandaiah Nagar in the Tappachabutra police station limits.
Relatives told the police that the couple frequently quarreled as Srinivas suspected his wife’s character. On Tuesday evening too, the couple had an argument and their son Vishnu had intervened to pacify them.
“On Wednesday morning, Srinivas woke up and took a big stone that was in the house, and dropped it on his wife’s head. She was rushed to Osmania General Hospital by her daughter. Doctors pronounced her dead,,” Tappachabutra Inspector Santosh Kumar said.
The body was shifted to the OGH mortuary and a case has been registered. Efforts are on to nab Srinivas who is absconding.
