Medak: A man who allegedly hurled his granddaughter off his house terrace and stabbed his wife when she questioned his behaviour was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the railway tracks near Venkatapuram village in Toopran mandal on Thursday.

The deceased, identified as Angadi Shankar (50), was reportedly mentally unsound and had been behaving strangely for the past three or four days. He threw his granddaughter off the first floor of the house. When his wife questioned him, he stabbed her with a knife and fled from the house.

Later, his body was found on the railway track close to his village. However, the police are yet to confirm whether it was a case of suicide or an accident. The body was shifted to the government hospital in Toopran for postmortem.
