Hyderabad: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a man allegedly killed his wife and young son while grievously injuring his daughter during a violent outburst in Amangal of Ranga Reddy district in the early hours of Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as Banavath Ram Das Naik, reportedly attacked his family members with a knife at their residence in Puligoni Palli Thanda. According to police, his wife Kavitha (28) and son Harshavardhan (10) died on the spot due to severe injuries.

The couple’s daughter, Praneetha, suffered critical injuries in the attack and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Her condition is said to be critical.

According to the police, Ram Das Naik, who works at a local cotton mill, had been addicted to alcohol and frequently quarreled with his wife. At dawn on Tuesday, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, he attacked his sleeping family members following a domestic dispute.

A police team led by ACP Janaki Reddy visited the crime spot soon after receiving information and took up investigation. The suspect has been taken into custody.

Police officials stated that while ongoing family disputes appear to be the primary cause, further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the brutal incident.
