Family disputes are suspected to have prompted the accused person to commit the double murder
Karimnagar: A 46 year-old woman Kokkisala Rama and her daughter Amani (25) were murdered allegedly by her husband Venkateshwalu in Huzurabad town in the wee hours of Thursday. Family disputes are suspected to have prompted the accused person to commit the double murder. According to police, the husband, identified as Venkateshwalu, an auto driver by profession, killed his wife and daughter by hitting them with an iron rod, while they were sleeping. The accused hit them on their heads with an iron rod around 2 am. The duo died on the spot.
A native of Dandepalli of Adilabad district, Venkateshwarlu migrated to Huzurabad some time ago and settled here. He built a house near Sairupa function hall on Jammikunta road. The house was registered on the name of his wife Rama. Disputes among the family members cropped up since Venkateshwarlu was maintaining an extramarital affair with another woman. As part of his plan, Venkateshwarlu in an inebriated condition attacked the duo. Amani has also been staying with parents by giving divorce to husband. After coming to know about the incident, Additional DCP S Srinivas, Huzurabad ACP Srinivasa Rao, CI Madhavi visited the spot. Police shifted bodies to Huzurabad hospital for postmortem. It is learnt that Venkateshwarlu is in police custody.
