Hyderabad: A woman was murdered by her husband, who allegedly suspected her fidelity, at their house in Kondurg on the city outskirts on Thursday.
K Jayamma (50) was married to K Venkat Reddy, a mason, about 15 years ago, and they have two children. The family was staying at Regadi Chilakamarri in Kondurg.
Police said Venkat Reddy, who suspected his wife’s fidelity, had been harassing her both mentally and physically for the last five years. Elders on both sides intervened and worked out compromises between the couple several times.
It is suspected that after one such argument, Venkat Reddy smothered Jayamma and then banged her head against the wall, causing grievous bleeding injuries that led to her death.
The Kondurg police are investigating.
Efforts are on to nab Venkat Reddy, who is absconding.
