Man murdered by mother-in-law in Hyderabad

Anitha and Naveen were in an affair for the past ten years and she slit his throat after he started harassing her following his wife’s suicide

Hyderabad: A man was killed allegedly by his mother-in-law who was having an affair with him in Uppal on Wednesday night. The woman, Anitha (38), surrendered before the police later. According to the police, Anitha slit the throat of Naveen Kumar while he was asleep in her house.

Police said Anitha and Naveen Kumar were in a relationship for the past ten years, with Anitha even getting her elder daughter Vandana married to him in November last year. However, Vandana caught their relation and quarreled with her husband over the issue and later hanged herself to death, said S Ranga Swamy, SHO (Uppal).

The Meerpet police had registered a case of abetment of suicide against Anitha and Naveen Kumar and arrested them. Anitha later got bail and was living in Uppal, when Naveen Kumar too came out, and allegedly began harassing her to ensure that Vandana’s suicide case was compromised in court.

“On Wednesday night, when Naveen was asleep in her house, Anitha slit his throat with a knife,” Ranga Swamy said, adding that she later reached the Uppal police station and surrendered. A case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC was registered and investigation is on.
