Man murdered in Hyderabad’s Saroornagar; wife confesses to crime
A man was murdered at his home in Saroornagar, Hyderabad. Police suspect he was attacked with blunt objects. His wife, Chitti, confessed to the crime after initially misleading police. Investigators are probing whether her alleged paramour was also involved
Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man was found murdered at his house in Kodandaram Nagar, Saroornagar, on Friday.
The victim, identified as J Shekhar, is suspected to have been attacked with blunt objects. Police have detained his wife, Chitti (33), on suspicion of involvement in the murder.
According to police, the couple had frequent quarrels over Chitti’s alleged extramarital relationship with a youth from the neighbourhood.
The crime came to light when Chitti called Dial 100, claiming that her husband had died in his sleep. However, during questioning, she gave inconsistent statements. Upon sustained interrogation, she confessed to killing Shekhar.
Police are probing whether her alleged paramour was also involved in the offence.
