Hyderabad: A man was murdered by unidentified persons in a secluded spot at Alamkhanguda in Shankarpally, Ranga Reddy district here on Saturday morning.
The victim, B Venkataiah (33), a construction worker from Mahalingapuram village, was attacked with knife after the suspects sprinked chilli powder into his eyes. He suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot.
According to the police, Venkataiah was suspected to have accompanied the assailants and was attacked following an argument. Local residents found the body and alerted the police.
The Shankarpally police have taken up investigation and shifted the body for autopsy.The victim’s family told the police that an unidentified person had called Venkataiah asking him to meet him. Police said efforts are on to identify the caller.
