Man obsessed with getting hitched soon attacked by father in Hyderabad
Yellaiah and his son Naresh were having a discussion over arranging the marriage of the latter. As the discussion turned into heated argument, Naresh insisted that his marriage be solemnised without delays and at an early date.
Hyderabad: A 26 year-old man who insisted that his marriage be arranged at the earliest was allegedly killed by his father at Shadnagar in Ranga Reddy district here on Sunday.
Yellaiah (55) and his son Naresh, both labourers and residents of Chegur village in Kothur mandal had frequent arguments over arranging the marriage of the latter. “Naresh would often come home drunk and pick up an argument over it and abuse his father,” police said. Even on Saturday midnight, Naresh came home in an inebriated condition and discussed the matter with his father. “As the discussion turned into a heated argument, Naresh insisted that his marriage be solemnised without delay and at an early date. This is suspected to have led to the attack,” they said.
Police said Yellaiah, who was in an inebriated condition too, got furious and attacked his son with a sickle. A severely injured Naresh was rushed to Osmania General Hospital for treatment where he died while undergoing treatment later in the day.
On receiving information, the Nandigama police booked a case of murder against Yellaiah and took him into custody. The body was shifted for autopsy.
