Man sentenced for life for murder of transgender person in Hyderabad

The convict, Venkat Yadav alias Venkateshwarlu, against whom a history sheet is maintained at Banjara Hills police station, was involved in several cases including the murder of Brahmanni.

Hyderabad: A city court awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing a transgender person, Kaveri Brahmanni, five years ago at Banjara Hills.

Venkat Yadav alias Venkateshwarlu, against whom a history sheet is maintained at the Banjara Hills police station, was involved in several cases including the murder of Brahmanni.

On January 26, 2016, Venkat Yadav along with a few others killed Brahmanni at Indiranagar under the Banjara Hills police station limits. The police had arrested Venkat Yadav for the murder and filed a chargesheet against him in the court.

The court found him guilty and awarded life imprisonment.
