Man sentenced to 10 years jail, one lakh fine for raising ganja crop in Asifabad

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A court in Asifabad on Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh for cultivating banned ganja crop three years ago.
District sessions court principal judge MV Ramesh delivered the judgement awarding the term and fine against Athram Amrutha Rao from Pagidi village in Sirpur (U) mandal finding him guilty for raising the crop in his farm.
Rao was booked for allegedly growing the crop , when police raided his farm, following a tip-off on October 21, 2021. The then Sub-Inspector Vishnuvardhan took up investigations.
