Man sentenced to 10 years RI for causing woman’s death in drunk driving case

Adilabad: A court here on Monday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 8,500 for causing the death of a woman by driving an auto-rickshaw under the influence of liquor four years ago.
Assistant Sessions Judge CM Rajyalakshmi pronounced the verdict against Shai Javid of Boath for recklessly driving his auto-rickshaw, resulting in the death of Pawar Nirguna of Sonala mandal centre while she was waiting for a bus at Tiviti village on March 24, 2021.
The court observed that he was in an inebriated condition at the time of the mishap.
