Man sentenced to 6 months in jail for abusing tribal man in Adilabad

Adilabad: A court here on Monday sentenced a man to six months in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 for abusing a tribal man and attacking him with an axe four years ago.
Ravi Kumar, the judge of the special court for SC/ST cases, awarded the sentence to Bandari Devanna of Guda village in Jainath mandal after finding him guilty of abusing Madavi Raju using his caste name. The incident occurred on January 31, 2022, when Raju refused to give Devanna money to buy liquor.
Based on a complaint received from Raju, the police registered a case against Devanna and took up investigation. A charge-sheet was filed, establishing Devanna’s offence.
