Man severely injured in road mishap on Hyderabad ORR

Hyderabad: One person was severely injured when the car he was driving went out of control and crashed a road median before it caught fire on the Outer Ring Road at Kokapet in Narsingi on Saturday. Police suspect rash and negligent driving led to the mishap.
The incident occurred when the car, driven by K Manikyam (26), a travel operator from Vattinagulapally of Gandipet was returning from Patancheru towards Gandipet. According to the police, when the car reached Kokapet, Manikyam who was driving fast lost control of the steering wheel and went ahead to crash the median, after which the car turned turtle.
“Due to the impact, the car went up in flames and the driver somehow managed to escape with injuries with the help of those passing by. He is being treated for severe burns and his condition is critical,” police said, adding that the car was completely gutted in the fire. “We suspect he could have dozed off while driving,” police said.
