Man, son killed as car hits bike in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man and his son died while a teenage boy was injured when the bike they were riding was hit by a car at Nandanavanam Park in Medipally on the Warangal highway on Friday.

The victims were identified as M Somaiah (70) and his son M Krishna (27), both from Palakurthy, while the injured person was Somaiah’s grandson D Vinesh (16) from Kukatpally.

According to the police, the mishap occurred when the trio was proceeding on a bike to their house from Uppal. When they reached near Medipally, the driver of a car which was coming towards Uppal lost control of the steering and hit the road median following which the vehicle jumped on the other side of the road hitting the bike in the opposite direction.

While Somaiah and Krishna died on the spot, the injured Vinesh was shifted to a private hospital. His condition was said to be stable. The car hit another bike too. The Medipally police booked a case of negligence causing death and injuries and were investigating.
