Hyderabad: A man was murdered at Kanchanbagh allegedly by his own brother over some family issues on Saturday night.

According to the police, the victim Shaikh Muqtar, (30), went to attend a function at the house of his sister located at Hafez Babanagar when there was an argument between Muqtar and his parents. Muqtar’s elder brother Shaik Ishaq, alias Essa, intervened and tried to pacify it.

“A quarrel broke out between Ishaq and Muqtar, in the house. In a fit of rage, Ishaq went into the kitchen, took a knife and stabbed on the chest of Muqtar,” said Kachanbagh Inspector, Y Kamala Kumar.

Muqtar was rushed to a private hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The Kanchanbagh police registered a case and are investigating. Efforts are on to nab Ishaq who went absconding.
