Hyderabad: A woman was murdered, allegedly by her husband who was reportedly in an inebriated condition at their house in Maheshwaram on the city outskirts on Monday night. A dispute between the two is suspected to have led to the killing, police said.
The couple, A Narasimha and A Mangamma (35), both natives of Kandukur, were staying at Manikyamma Guda for the last five years and working construction sites.
Police said Narasimha was habituated to liquor and often went home drunk to pick up fights with his wife, apart from beating her. On Monday night, there was an argument and he allegedly strangled her to death with an electric wire, before fleeing the spot. Neighbours, who found her dead on Tuesday morning, alerted the Maheshwaram police, who have registered a case and are investigating. Efforts are on to nab Narasimha, police said.
