Man stripped, tonsured over car rental dispute in Golconda; five held

A car rental operator and his associates were arrested in Golconda for allegedly confining, assaulting, stripping and tonsuring a customer over unpaid rental dues and vehicle repair charges.

Hyderabad: A young man was allegedly stripped naked, forced to dance and tonsured by a car rental operator and his friends over unpaid rental dues and repair costs in Golconda.

According to the police, Arbaaz, a resident of Gudimalkapur, had rented a self-drive car from Malik, who lives in Alkapur, about six months ago. Malik had obtained the vehicle from Nauman on a commission basis and rented it out to Arbaaz.

The car reportedly ended up with a few scratches, following which Malik demanded the pending rental amount along with Rs. 40,000 towards repair expenses. Arbaaz paid a portion of the amount but failed to clear the remaining dues.

On Monday, Malik, along with his friends Mustafa, Khurram, Maaz and Fardeen, allegedly confined Arbaaz in a room in Gulshan Colony and assaulted him. They allegedly stripped him, forced him to dance naked and recorded videos using their mobile phones. The suspects also allegedly tonsured him.

Following a complaint, the Golconda police booked a case and took up an investigation. They arrested Malik and his five associates on Wednesday.
