Mancherial: A woman was killed on the spot when a lorry mowed down a car in which she was travelling at Mutyampet village in Hajipur mandal early on Thursday morning.
Haipur Sub-Inspector G Naresh said that Karre Raju (49), the wife of Mallaiah from Vegaon village in Bheemini mandal received serious injuries when the lorry hit the car at around 2 am. Death was instant for Raju.
Rash and negligence driving by the driver of the lorry was suspected to be the cause of the mishap. Based on a complaint received from Rajesh, the son of the woman, a hit and run case was registered against the driver of the lorry. Investigations got underway.
