The police officer and his personal driver were caught red-handed when they were accepting a bribe of Rs 1.2 lakh.
Mancherial: A Sub-Inspector working with Bellampalli II town police station and his personal driver were caught red-handed when they were accepting a bribe of Rs 1.2 lakh from a person to grant a bail on Wednesday.
Anti-Corruption Bureau official K Bhadraiah said that the police officer K Bhaskar Rao working a Sub-Inspector in Bellampalli II town police station and his car driver Raju were taking bribe from Naveen. The police officer demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for granting him a bail after the complainant was booked in a case pertaining to illegal transport of sand.
Bhadraiah said that Bhaskar would be produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar on Thursday.
