Mancherial: Sleuths of Ramagundam Task Force arrested 10 persons for trading of banned tobacco products in different parts of Bellampalli on Thursday. Tobacco products worth Rs 3 lakh and two motorbikes were seized from them. Four more accused are absconding.
Task Force Inspector A Mahender said the accused were Md Sabeer, Gade Ravi, Vemula Naresh, Peddi Ramu, Ramesh Purohit, Mukta Venkanna, Manaswami Suresh, Shaik Raheman and Enugula Shiva, residents of different places in the coal belt town. Chinta Mahesh, Pindi Suresh, Amran and Zameel are still at large.
The traders were detained after the police found stock of the prohibited products during simultaneous raids following a tip off. The accused were handed over to Bellampalli I town police for further action against them.
Bellampalli I town inspector M Raju, Sub-Inspector Ramulu, staffers of the task force Srinivas, Omkar, Venkatesh, Shyamsundar, Sadanandam Goud, Bhaskar Goud, Kiran and Sampath Kumar took part in the operation.
