Mancherial: BJP district chief demands action against assaulters

Speaking to media reporters, Raghunath Rao regretted that though assaults against the leaders of Opposition parties were growing, the police were not taking any action against the perpetrators

Mancherial: BJP district president Verabelli Raghunath Rao demanded stern action against those who assaulted the party’s leader Mettupalli Jayarama Rao at a mutton market in the town on Wednesday. He along with members of the party lodged a complaint with Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) A Bhaskar here on Thursday.

Speaking to media reporters, Raghunath Rao regretted that though assaults against the leaders of Opposition parties were growing, the police were not taking any action against the perpetrators. He wanted the police to take stringent action against those who were involved in the attack against Jayarama Rao. Else the BJP would stage a sit-in in front of the office of DGP in Hyderabad soon, he cautioned.

The district president said that the town was witnessing unprecedented attacks against the leaders of the Opposition parties. He accused local MLA K Premsagar Rao of being behind the attacks.
