Mancherial: Students celebrated Christmas on a colourful note on the premises of Carmel Convent High School (both State and CBSE syllabus) in advance here on Tuesday. Dr Manju Rose and Reverend Father Jose Manikanth were the chief guests at the celebrations.
Students presented cultural programmes and dance performances to mark the occasion, enthralling the audience. They staged skits depicting important phases of Jesus Christ’s life. Prizes were given to teachers who performed well in their respective fields. Dressed in their best, a large number of students turned up for the glittering celebrations, filling the campus with cheer.
Principal Sister Saropiya said Christmas was the festival of joy and happiness. She stated that by imbibing the spirit of the festival, people should spread the message of joy and happiness that was lacking in the world. She advised students to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ and serve the needy in their own ways.
A festive mood prevailed across the campus with children donning Santa Claus and angel costumes and students taking out a parade with bands. Dignitaries cut a massive cake as part of the celebrations and distributed it to the students.
Principal (CBSE wing) Rinet, Vice-principal Sister Krupa, teachers and non-teaching staff members were present.
