Mancherial Collector asks officials to carry out revision of electoral rolls

Mancherial: Collector Bharati Hollikeri instructed officials concerned to carry out the special summary revision of electoral rolls-2021 as per the plan. She convened a review meeting with leaders of various political parties and revenue authorities here on Monday.
Bharati said that the special summary revision was being taken up for registering names of youngsters aged above 18 and to make corrections in the rolls. She said that the integrated list rolls of voters would be prepared from November 1 to 15 and the draft was going to be published on November 16. Objects could be raised from November 16 to December 15, she said.
The IAS officer further said that four special camps would be organised for addressing grievances on two Saturdays and two Sundays. The claims would be resolved on January 1. Final rolls would be released on January 15. Political parties could make suggestions on rationalisation of polling stations, changing names of the stations and shifting locations, she added.
The Collector informed that Chennur Assembly Constituency, which had 225 polling stations, accounted for 1,74, 312 voters, while Bellampalli and Mancherial segments consist of 1,61,190 and 2,51,512 electors respectively. There are 222 polling stations in Bellampalli Assembly constituency and Mancherial has 279 stations. The three segments contain a total of 5.87 lakh electors. A polling station is created per 1,500 voters.
Mancherial Revenue Divisional Officer Ramesh and his counterpart of Bellampalli division Shyamala Devi, Elections Deputy Tahsildar Srinivas and C-wing supervisor Rajani were present.
