Mancherial collector says efforts on to control illegal mining, transportation of sand
The Collector further said that sand reaches, mining and other relevant processes were being organized transparently. He warned that stern action would be taken against those who violate norms with regard to mining and transportation of the mineral
Mancherial: Collector Kumar Deepak said that steps were being taken to strictly control illegal mining and transportation of sand. He addressed the media persons here on Tuesday.
Kumar stated that 32 cases were booked, while fines worth Rs 10.77 lakh were imposed against those who flouted the norms in 2023. He informed that four cases were registered and fines worth Rs 2.12 lakh were levied against illegal miners in 2024. As many as 556 metric tonnes of sand were seized in the previous year, while 2,744 metric tonnes of sand were seized in 2024.
The Collector further said that sand reaches, mining and other relevant processes were being organized transparently. He warned that stern action would be taken against those who violate norms with regard to mining and transportation of the mineral. He urged the public to share information of wrongdoers.
