Mancherial: Mandamarri Sub-Inspector Bhumesh cautioned the public against falling prey to a message that has gone viral on social media platforms about one Bacchali Bheemaiah who has claimed that he has a miracle cure for Covid-19.

The police said he was duping the gullible people by claiming that he has a cure. “The retired coal miner had never treated any patient, nor those suffering from cough, fever and difficulty in breathing. He is trying to grab the attention of the public and is cheating them,” Bhumesh said in a statement here.

The message about Bheemaiah’s miracle medicine with three phone numbers went viral on WhatsApp groups on Wednesday.  Equating him to Nellur’s Anandayya, who shot to fame for treating the deadly coronavirus with ayurvedic medicine, many widely shared the message.

According to the message, Bacchali Bheemaiah is providing treatment to Covid patients on the lines of Anandayya. “Many patients have recovered from the virus with the help of the miracle cure. Those who are suffering from cough, fever and difficulty in breathing and whose oxygen saturation levels are low can easily get well,” read the message.

The message further stated that Bheemaiah inherited the medicine, an extraction of some mysterious herbs, from his ancestors. It noted that the former SCCL employee could treat Covid-19 in just three days and assured that the medicine was not harmful.

Bheemaiah was not available for comment on any of the numbers when this reporter tried to contact him over phone.
