Mancherial: A local court on Tuesday sentenced two brothers to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.1,000 each for attempting to murder a woman three years ago.
Additional Assistant Sessions Judge D Ram Mohan Reddy pronounced the verdict against Durgam Sammaiah and his brother Durgam Lingaiah of Bheemaram, who were found guilty of attempting to murder Kota Shankaramma of Ankushapur by attacking her with an iron rod in 2022.
The court examined the evidence and cross-examined the witnesses produced by Additional Public Prosecutor Nandi Ravinder before delivering the judgment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Bhaskar commended Srirampur Inspector Venuchandar, Bheemaram Sub-Inspector Swetha, court constable Dharmaiah, and prosecutor Ravinder for their efforts in securing the conviction.
