Mancherial: District Educational Officer S Venkateshwarlu on Wednesday stated that the deadline for submitting nominations to win Inspire Awards or MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) was extended till October 24. MANAK is an initiative of the Union government to foster a culture of innovation and creative thinking amongst students to address societal needs through science and technology.
In a press statement, Venkateshwarlu instructed the headmasters to submit at least five nominations from every Upper Primary and High School in the district. He stated that a total of 560 nominations from 145 schools were sent to the Union government for the consideration of the award so far.
The DEO further told the headmasters of the schools to take initiation and to ensure nominations are sent for the award. He asked them to share the details of the students and their bank accounts as the winners of the award would get Rs 10,000. He advised them to contact District Science Officer S Madhu Babu for more details by dialing 9849550200.
