Mancherial: District Collector instructs bankers to meet loan deadlines

The IAS officer further said that crop loans to the tune of Rs 776.36 crore as against the target of Rs 923 crore were disbursed in the kharif season, indicating an achievement of 84.11 percent

Mancherial: District Collector Bharati Hollikeri on Tuesday instructed bankers to meet loan deadlines on time.

Addressing at a review meeting with officials from various banks and municipalities here, Bharati said about 13,000 of the total 18,000 street vendors were granted loan of Rs 10,000 each. She told the bankers to take steps to cover the remaining 4,129 vendors at the earliest. She said the credit-deposit ratio of the district was 66.58 percent. She stated that loans worth Rs 1,008 crore was released to the priority sector.


The IAS officer further said that crop loans to the tune of Rs 776.36 crore as against the target of Rs 923 crore were disbursed in the kharif season, indicating an achievement of 84.11 percent. Loans worth Rs 124 crore out of the total 274 crore earmarked for small and medium scale industries were released. A sum of 17.68 crore was granted towards housing loans, she added.

The Collector asked the authorities to take steps to grant loans through SC Corporation to eligible persons. She stated that 824 beneficiaries were already identified as against the total 878 units sanctioned to the district. She directed the bankers and officials of the urban civic bodies to speed up the lending process to genuine beneficiaries of various schemes.

Reserve Bank of India’s officer Sai Charan, Regional Head of Union Bank of India Jagannatha Swamy, State Bank of India’s Chief Manager Tejeswar Rao, Deccan Grameena Bank manager Ramana Murthy, District Rural Development Officer Sheshadri, District Agriculture Officer Veeraiah, Fisheries Officer Satyanarayana and officials of SC and ST corporations were present.
