As part of this initiative, a food processing zone would be created in Bellampalli, spending Rs 1,500 crore.

A piece of 355 acres situated in survey number 177 on the outskirts of Kannala was allocated for the zone. Tenders for laying internal roads and culverts in the zone have been completed, at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore. Growers of paddy and fruits, lentils can sell their produce in the district and can make profits in farming.
