Mancherial: Two girl students from private degree colleges in the town have excelled in discus throw, shot put and 800-meter sprint competitions at a university-level athletic meet held in Khammam on Saturday and Sunday.
Anil Kumar, coach of the students, in a statement, said that K Sujitha Chowdhary won gold medal in discus throw and shot put, while T Honey clinched gold medal in 800 meters sprint in a two-day Kakatiya University athletic meet. Honey also bagged bronze medal in 400 meters sprint.
While Sujita is a B Sc II year student of Sri Harsha Degree College of Mancherial town, Honey is BCom-II year student at CV Raman Degree College. Both the girl’s fathers are businessmen. They were congratulated by teachers and Principal of their colleges for excelling in the athletic meet.
