Mancherial: A man was arrested for allegedly bludgeoning his brother to death with a wooden pestle in Mandamarri town on Tuesday.
Mandamarri Inspector Shashidhar Reddy said Mendrapu Kumar, a daily wage earner, was taken into custody for murdering his brother Gopal, 40, by striking him on the head with the pestle for allegedly harassing him under the influence of liquor on the night of December 1.
Police said Kumar had been nursing a grudge against Gopal for frequently quarrelling with him after consuming alcohol and after his wife left him a year ago. Kumar allegedly attacked Gopal with the wooden pestle following an argument, resulting in his instant death. He fled the spot but was later caught by the police.
