Mancherial: The police cracked the mystery behind the Sunday’s sensational murder of a Village Revenue Assistant Durgam Bapu in Kannepalli, with the arrest of a person on Tuesday.
Bellampalli ACP Adla Mahesh told newsmen in Bellampalli that the alleged killer was Jambi Ravi Kumar, an unemployed person of Kothapalli village. Ravi Kumar confessed to committing the offence as he nursed a grudge against Bapu for sexually harassing and misbehaving with his sister in 2020.
He admitted that he purchased the knife, used for stabbing the VRA, on an e-commerce platform. He revealed that he dumped the murder weapon in a well after killing him. He had also burnt his bloodstained clothes.
The ACP commended Thandur Inspector K Babu Rao for arresting the accused person in short time and solving the mystery behind the sensational murder.
