Mancherial: Panchayat secretary arrested while accepting bribe to grant bill of Indiramma house
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Panchayat secretary Raj Kumar in Bellampalli for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a beneficiary of the Indiramma housing scheme. The bribe was sought to clear a bill of Rs 10,000.

Mancherial: A Panchayat secretary was arrested by sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 in Bellampalli on Friday evening. It was the second incident reported from Kannepalli mandal headquarters in a gap of two months.
ACB officials said that the secretary, Raj Kumar, working at Kannepalli mandal centre was caught red-handed for accepting the bribe from a beneficiary of Indiramma housing scheme to grant a bill of Rs 10,000, in Bellampalli town.
The beneficiary’s husband approached the sleuths when Raj Kumar harassed him demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000, but later agreed to accept Rs 5,000.
The sleuths laid a dragnet and apprehended him at the time of receiving the bribe from the beneficiary. Raj Kumar was produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar and was sent to a judicial remand.
On September 27, a technical assistant belonging to the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department was arrested by ACB on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from an applicant to perform his official duty in Kannepalli mandal centre.
