Mancherial: Inspired by reading books and intending to express her myriad feelings and emotions, Sowmya Modhumpuram, a young and promising poet from Mancherial town published an anthology of poems, titled ‘Wave’s and won laurels from internet users for coming up with thought-provoking work.

A 27-year-old bachelor of computer science from Reddy Colony, Sowmya is an avid reader. She draws inspiration from literature, poetry and stories that shape human experience. She follows novels written by Ruskin Bond. She ventured into poetry when she was 19. She attempted to convert her personal accounts, emotions and self reflection into poems in her maiden work.

“The book is a deeply personal and emotional collection of poems that captures many feelings a human heart can hold at once. The poems were a reflection of a tide of emotions such as longing, hope, anger, love, loss, introspection. Like waves in the ocean, these emotions rise and fall. They are sometimes gentle and overwhelming,” Sowmya explained about her work.

Sowmya claimed that her friends and family members complimented her for publishing the creative book. Friends told me that the poems were relatable. She advised budding writers to write to express, not to impress. She opined one could improve by writing something daily, not only by undergoing training.

The daughter of a goldsmith said that she was planning to pen suspense thrillers in future as she is fascinated by literature. Besides writing, Sowmya can play guitar. She is interested in fashion and styling as well. She actively shares her opinions on Instagram, a popular video-photo sharing application. A post about her book was widely shared on the platform recently.

Sowmya was congratulated by friends and users of social media platforms on bringing her first work. She thanked those who extended unwavering support to her in endeavors.
