Mancherial: Mancherial Police organised a blood donation camp at a function hall in Mancherial on Monday following a request made by Indian Red Cross Society – Mancherial unit for patients of Thalassemia and other diseases.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Akhil Mahajan was the chief guest of the event and handed over certificates of participation to the donors.

Akhil said donating blood was a noble deed and it could save lives of various diseases and road accidents. He appreciated youngsters who voluntarily donated blood. He requested the public to come forward to give their blood to the cause. He praised the activities and services of IRCS-Mancherial chapter. He donated blood to set an example to others.

IRCS Mancherial district president K Bhaskar Reddy said that 101 units of blood were collected during the camp. He stated that the blood bank was unable to cater to the needs of the needy due to decline in stocks of the blood following Covid-19 induced lockdown. He pleaded with the citizens to donate the blood. He thanked the policemen for organising the camp.

Mancherial Inspector ML Muttilingaiah, Rural Inspector Kumara Swamy, Sub-Inspectors V Praveen Kumar, N Devaiah, Chandrasekhar, Srinivas and staffers were present.
