Mancherial: Mancherial police fixed a price structure for shifting patients suffering from various ailments and Covid-19 in private ambulances and to check exorbitant rates charged by the vehicle owners.

Mancherial Assistant Commissioner of Police Akhil Mahajan, in a press statement, said that a meeting was held with the owners belonging to Mancherial and gave suggestions to transport the patients. He said that the owners agreed to follow a standard price structure for shifting the patients to different destinations.

The IPS officer said that Rs 3,000 would be charged to shift a normal patient and Rs 6,000 to carry a Covid-19 patient by a private ambulance service from Mancherial to Karimnagar. The price is Rs 9,000 for Covid-19 patients to Warangal and Rs 12,000 to Hyderabad.

The rate for hiring the vehicle locally is Rs 1,500, he added.
