Mancherial: Seven Ashram school students fall ill after lunch at Bellampalli hostel
Seven students of an Ashram school in Bellampalli, Mancherial district, fell ill after lunch at their hostel on Saturday. Parents suspected stale food caused the illness and demanded improved food quality, better monitoring and accountability from hostel authorities.
Mancherial: Seven students from an Ashram school fell ill afternoon taking lunch at their hostel in Bellampalli on Saturday.
Parents claimed that the students began vomiting and complained of stomachache after having lunch around 3 pm. They were immediately shifted to a hospital and were discharged by evening. They suspected that the stale food served might be the reason.
Parents alleged that no official came forward to admit the students to a hospital reflecting poor management of the hostel. They claimed that they could rush their wards to a hospital with the help of locals. They urged officials to ensure hygienic food was served to the inmates of the hostel besides improving monitoring by officials.
