Mancherial: Gundeti Yogeshwar, a biological science teacher belonging to Zilla Parishad High School of Mancherial district headquarters, received a national award given by Lead India Foundation for rendering outstanding services in the field of environment protection. He received the award from Lead India founder president Dr NB Sudarshan at a programme held in Hyderabad on Monday.
Yogeshwar was chosen for presenting the award considering his consistent efforts to protect the environment, as part of 90th birth anniversaries of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He was given a memento, certificate of appreciation and was felicitated by a shawl.
He had bagged Paryavarana Seva Rathna award bestowed by Gandhi Global Pratishtan of Hyderabad for rendering outstanding services in the field of environment protection in 2020
The crusader of environment protection also received Harita Mitra award from Mancherial district authorities in 2018. He was the recipient of the national best teacher award for his contributions to the field of education in 2017. He bagged many awards from various voluntary organisations for creating awareness over the need to protect the environment.
