Mancherial woman ends life after husband’s dance with another during Ganesh immersion

A 23-year-old woman from Mancherial district allegedly died by suicide after being distressed over her husband dancing with another woman during a Ganesh immersion procession.

Mancherial: A woman died allegedly by suicide as she was reportedly depressed after her husband danced with another woman during Ganesh idol immersion procession at Sonapur village on Friday.

Police said that Sandhya (23) attempted to end her life by consuming a pesticide after spotting her husband Jangu while dancing with another woman during the immersion held at neighbouring Baduguda hamlet, on Thursday. She was immediately shifted to a hospital in Mancherial. She succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Jangu, who was in an inebriated condition, danced with a woman at the immersion taken out on Wednesday night. Sandhya, who also attended the event, was reportedly upset with her husband’s closeness with the woman. She ended her life. Hailing from the same village, She was married to Jangu four years ago.
