Mancherial’s realtor arrested for duping, raping woman
Adilabad II town Inspector Potharam Srinivas said the accused Galipelli Chandrasekhar, a realtor of Mamidipalli village in Dandepalli mandal, was arrested when he came to Adilabad for blackmailing her.
Adilabad: A realtor from Mancherial was arrested on Monday for allegedly cheating a female public servant of Adilabad town under the pretext of helping her get a transfer and sexually assaulted her for the past three years. Gold ornaments weighing 10 tolas were recovered from him.
Adilabad II town Inspector Potharam Srinivas said the accused Galipelli Chandrasekhar, a realtor of Mamidipalli village in Dandepalli mandal, was arrested when he came to Adilabad for blackmailing her.
During the course of investigations, Chandrasekhar confessed to extracting Rs 10 lakh and 35 tolas of gold from the woman in a phased manner by promising that he would help her in getting a transfer to Hyderabad using his political influence for a period of three years. He admitted that he had committed the offence to lead a lavish lifestyle.
Sexual assault
The realtor revealed that he had raped her at his residence in Hyderabad. He and the woman came to know each other through one of her cousins. He disclosed that he had demanded Rs 10 lakh after threatening to upload intimate photos and videos on YouTube. His acts were exposed when he began pestering her for more cash.
Unable to bear harassment and torture of Chandrasekhar, the victim recently approached Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier who took special interest in the case. Accordingly, a case was registered at Adilabad II town police station. Police probed into it and apprehended the realtor. The Inspector said the police were also looking at the possibility of Chandrashekhar cheating other women.
