Hyderabad: The family drama at veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu’s residence at Jalpally in Pahadi Shareef continued on Tuesday, with his younger son Manchu Manoj criticising the police for allegedly taking a one-sided stand in the issue and supporting his father instead.
Responding to the media reports for the first time on the issue, Manoj who was accompanied by his wife Bhuma Mounika Reddy to Mohan Babu’s residence said, “It is not right to do this while my children are at home. My wife and children are left without protection. I brought bouncers to protect my wife and children. Why were our bouncers sent out? I asked the police to provide protection to my family, but they are threatening my supporters. They are acting with partiality,” the actor said.
He said that he will meet everyone seeking justice for him and family. “I am not fighting for money or property, but for my self-respect,” he said.
Earlier, Mohan Babu wrote to Rachakonda Police Commissioner informing him that he was facing a threat to his life from Manoj and requested protection. On the other hand, Manoj in his counter complaint to the PahadiShareef police had said that 10 unidentified persons trespassed into the house and abused and assaulted him.
He also alleged that Vijay and Kiran, reportedly close aides of his elder brother Manchu Vishnu, had taken away the hard drives of the CCTVs. He requested the police to provide him protection in view of the threat to his life.
