Hyderabad: Film actor Manchu Manoj appeared before Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu on Wednesday, in connection with a case booked against him in Pahadi Shareef police station under Section 329 (criminal trespass) of BNS.

Manoj, son of veteran film actor Manchu Mohan Babu, came to the Police Commissioner’s office in Neredmet in the afternoon following a notice issued to him by the Rachakonda Police Commissioner under Section 126 of BNS in view of the ensuing family dispute between the father and son duo.

In the notice issued on Tuesday, Sudheer Babu had said that the Pahadi Shareef police station house officer submitted a report stating Manoj involved in crime number 643/2024 under Sections 329(4), 115(2), 351(2) read with 3(5) of BNS at Manch Township at Jalpally village in Balapur. “I am of the opinion that there are sufficient grounds for conduct proceedings on the report of Pahadi Shareef police under Section 126 BNSS,” he said.

The police asked Manoj to appear before them as to why he should not be required to enter into a bond for Rs.1 lakh to maintain peace for a year.

It is learnt that Manoj apprised the commissioner of the sequence of events which led to the family dispute and assured to amicably sort it out within the family. After the meeting which continued for nearly one-and-a-half hours, Manoj submitted a bond for Rs 1 lakh to maintain peace.

Meanwhile, Mohan Babu who too was called by the police commissioner had filed a lunch motion petition in the High Court challenging the notice served on him by the police. He was granted relief by the court, which has deferred the notice and said that he would not have to appear before the police till December 24.
