Actor Manchu Vishnu, who is contesting for the president’s post of Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA), has announced that he would bear all the expenses to build a swanky building for MAA association.
In a video statement that he released on his social media account, the actor said he would withdraw his nomination for the MAA polls if the bigwigs from the Telugu film industry decide upon electing one name for the president post.
Explaining how the face of the film industry kept changing time to time since the ’90s, the actor gave brief insights about how Chitrapuri colony in Hyderabad came into existence and how his father had worked for the piece of land to ensure it was sanctioned to the poor movie artistes.
Vishnu further appealed to the contestants to abstain from discussing the new building as there are more concerning issues to be addressed.
He further recalled the statement that he had given to bear 25 percent of expenses to construct the MAA building in the city when actor Murali Mohan was the MAA president some years ago.
The elections of MAA are due in September. Actor Prakash Raj, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, actor Hema, CVL Narasimha Rao are already in fray wooing voters to win the president’s post.
